A graduate of Bennington college with a mixed major of ceramics and photography, Arthur Becker went to business school at Amos Tuck (Dartmouth) and began work by moving 18th century American houses in New England and then as CEO of two technology companies. Becker resumed his photographic work in the late 1990’s with the intention to create photographic images with texture, introducing visual artifact common to paintings. Becker’s most recent work focuses on currency, in an exploration of both the meaning of that we give to money and the relationship that we have to that meaning. Contemporary idolatry.
Arthur Becker’s work has been exhibited at Morgan Walker Fine Art and the Hal Katzen in New York; Arcature Fine Art in Palm Beach, FL, and at Art Basel.
